The fourth round of the Italian Formula 3 Championship was held last weekend at Mugello. After scoring several podium finishes in the last few races, BVM Target's Cesar Ramos brought home two fourth-place finishes. Despite having not celebrated on the podium, the Brazilian held 2nd place in standings, and is currently sitting with 81 points, just 4 off the lead.
The team's Fiat-powered Dallara proved strong since practice, when Ramos clocked the fourth fastest time with both new and old tires. In Qualifying, he kept running at the same pace, and took 5th spot on the grid for Race 1. He eventually finished in 4th, as he kept pressuring third-placed Buttarelli. With the reversed grid format, he gained one spot for Race 2, but was held by Gabby Chaves for a long time and ended up in the same place. Ramos is still the main contender in standings for leader Mancinelli, and will try to move on again at Varano de' Melegari, on August 29.
