Imola - Ramos closes in to series' lead

The BVM Target team had a great time at Imola, in the third round of the 2010 Italian Formula 3 Championship. As the venue has always been good to the locally-based squad, Cesar Ramos put good luck to fruition, as he completed a whole weekend in second place. In qualifying, the Brazilian scored a front row spot, just two tenths of a second off Daniel Mancinelli's pole position. On race 1, he trailed the leader and fought his way up for the whole 18 laps, settling for second with a 0.6s gap despite having set the fastest lap of the day.

On race 2, which features a reversed top-8 format from qualifying, Cesar took off in 7th, but was able to recover up to second place, ending in 2nd behind Richelmi. Ramos was able to collect 28 points, bringing the total toll to 63, just 2 off the lead. So far the BVM Target driver ended up on the podium five times over 6 races, and in one occasion he was rear-ended on lap 1.

While the car formerly driven by Federico Scionti was not put on-track at Imola, Tyler Dueck continued to make his way up through the series' ranks. The Canadian clocked the 18th fastest lap in qualifying, before scoring a 12th place as a best result on race 2, as he kept improving lap-by-lap. The next round for the Italian F.3 Championship is set at Mugello on July 25.
