The debut of BVM Target racing in the World Series Renault 3.5 was off to a pretty positive balance at the Motorland Aragon track in Alcaniz. The team, directed by Roberto Venieri, brought Daniel Zampieri home in 9th place on race 1, while Sergio Canamasas ended up race 2 in 10th. The first qualifying session started great for the Italian squad, as Canamasas clocked the fourth fastest laptime of the day, while his Italian team-mate settled for 12th due to set-up issues. Race 1 hasn't been lucky for the Spaniard though, as he was clipped by a rival and forced off-track while on third place, after a well-executed start. Zampieri started a good recovery that enabled him to climb up to the 9th place.
Qualifying 2 hasn't been particularly full of positives. Canamasas was slowed down by an electronic issue and finished in 23rd, while Zampieri went long at the hairpin on his best lap en-route to 10th place. On the main race, featuring a mandatory pit-stop for tire change, Canamasas provided the team with an outstanding recovery, as he moved through the field to end up in 10th. Zampieri, who was running up to 8th in the opening stages, was penalized for speeding on pit road and ended up in 21st. The next round for the World Series Renault 3.5 will be from April 30 to May 1 at Spa-Francorchamps, in Belgium.
