A new era for Target

Friday 15 will mark the start of a new era in the history of the BVM Target. This morning, the red light at the end of the pits turned green at Motorland Aragon in Alcaniz for practice, and the team directed by Roberto Venieri took the first steps in the 2011 World Series Renault 3.5. It's been a great debut for the Italian squad, which won the 2010 Italian Formula 3 Championship and F.ACI-CSAI Abarth. Expectations are high, as testing provided encouraging results for both drivers Daniel Zampieri and Sergio Canamasas. Zampieri, who won the Italian F.3 title in 2009 with BVM Target, is at his second year in the World Series Renault 3.5 like his Spanish team-mate. Venieri is serving as a Team Principal, while Giovanni Minardi is the Director Of Sport. Ruggero Apriletti, Marcus Koch and Francesco Ravera are the teams' engineers.

Giovanni Minardi – Director of Sport

“After lengthy preparations and a long winter we're finally ready to enter the World Series Renault 3.5 championship. It's an extremely competitive category that brought a lot of drivers to Formula 1, like happened recently with Vettel, Kubica and Alguersuari. We're proud to have been selected for the championship among the 13 teams and to be one of the two italian teams involved. We got some great results during testing and we're eager to confirm that during throughout year with our drivers Canamasas and Zampieri. They're two already experienced young guys and already proved to be strong and talented.

The 2011 World Series Renault 3.5 will feature nine rounds, with live TV broadcast by Eurosport.
