Target enters Super Trofeo Lamborghini with 4 Huracan racers

Target Racing is set for the 2021 Super Trofeo Lamborghini season. The Italian squad will field four Huracan racecars in the European series starting on April 18th at Monza.

On the #41 car, Target Racing will field Raul Guzman. The 21-year-old Mexican starred in the 2020 season, and will now be paired by 19-year-old youngster Glenn Van Berlo, making the switch from single-seaters. The Dutchman was the 2019 Spanish F4 vice-champion, while last year he was one of the main actors in the Euroformula Open. The crew made of Guzman and Van Berlo certainly is a benchmark for the team for being one of the "greenest" in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

The #99 car will feature a new combo of Andrea Cola and Dmitry Gvazava. The 21-year-old Italian is coming from a long and fruitful open-wheel career, which saw him win the F2000 Italy Trophy in 2019 and be constantly in the hunt for victory in the Remus F3 Cup. Gvazava, on the other hand, is a 33-year-old Russian. He took part in the French GT4 championship and also raced in the 2020 Dubai 24 Hours. The experience accumulated in recent years by Cola and Gvazava will allow them to provide key information to the team and collect the results that they both deserve.

The #15 car will be completely dedicated to... Sri Lanka. Fellow countrymen Dilantha Malagamuwa, who already raced with Target in 2020, and Ashan Silva, making his Super Trofeo Lamborghini debut, will be behind the wheel.

Target Racing will also manage a four Huracan for Automobile Tricolore, the #96, fielded for Raffaele Giannoni. The Italian starred in the AM class in 2019 when he won race 1 at Misano and secured two brilliant podium finishes at Silverstone.

This weekend's opening round at Monza starts on Friday 16th at 9.55 with the running of the first free practice session, which will be followed by the second one at 13.10. Qualifying will take place on Saturday 17th at 10.40, while the first race of the weekend is scheduled later the same day at 16.05. The second race will be held at 11.50 on Saturday 18th.

After Monza, Target Racing will move to the French circuit of Le Castellet, for the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo from May 28th to 30th. The series will be back into action from June 18th to 20th at the Dutch circuit of Zandvoort. Next up will be the visit to the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps venue between July 29th and August 1st.

From September 3rd to 5th, the team head towards Germany at Nurburgring and finally, Target Racing will be lining up at home from October 28th to 31st for the sixth final event which will feature with the World Finals at Misano.
