Race 2 at Mosca - Only Martsenko makes it to the finish

The second day of racing for the World Series Renault 3.5 at Moscow hasn't been much better than the first one for BVM Racing. Only one driver, Nikolay Martsenko, managed to finish the race, as he ended up in 18th after having started from the last row of the grid. Sergey Sirotkin was forced to retire after a first-corner incident with Yann Cunha. He had started from the 12th row. Both drivers, thanks to the contacts that put many of their rivals out of contention and sent on-track the safety-car, had managed to climb back to the 14th and 15th place. Unfortunately, at the re-start Sirotkin tried to move on Cunha, and as the Brazilian shut the door the contact became inevitable, forcing the 16-year-old Russian to retire.

Martsenko, who'll have a new engine at Silverstone, couldn't keep the pace of the leading pack and progressively lost ground to the front. The WSR 3.5 championship will now be taking a break before getting on-track again on the 26th of August at Silverstone, jointly with the World Endurance Championship. In the meantime, the team will to their best to profit from the three hours of engine use still remaining. A test day will be announced shortly.
