After just one month from the round at Spa-Francorchamps, the World Series Renault 3.5 was back on-track for the fourth round of the season. At the German venue, the BVM Target team fielded its two regular drivers Nikolay Martsenko and Giovanni Venturini with the goal of keeping their cars in points. After the first practice sessions dedicated by the team to set-up development, things got complicated by a persistent rainfall in qualifying 1. Martsenko, who was also battling flu, scored the 23rd fastest lap of the day (1'43"092) while Venturini ended up in 25th (1'43"336).
The further development in terms of set-up did not give them a boost in race 1. While both of them ended up the race with no mistakes or technical issues, they were far from the points zone. Despite his precarious physical condition, Martsenko took the 20th spot, followed two positions back by Venturini. None of them could be satisfied at all with how the race turned out and BVM Target is working hard for Qualifying and Race 2.
