Mugello - Zampieri takes win, third place in Tuscany

Daniel Zampieri continued to star in the third round of the 2009 Italian Formula 3 Championship. On the fast and tough Mugello racetrack, Zampieri and BVM Target won Race 1 before coming to a podium finish in the second heat of the weekend on Sunday. Zampieri also kept the lead in standings, with an encouraging 8-point margin over Sergio Campana. In Qualifying, Zampieri took a spot on the front row by tracking Campana, while team-mate Edoardo Liberati, racing the second BVM Target Dallara, ended up with a spot on Row 4. On Race 1, Zampieri kept his position from the first to the last lap, when the leading car ended up in the gravel, handing him an unexpected victory. In the meantime, Liberati battled all-day long in the midpack, finishing in a positive 8th spot.

On the second race, with a reversed top-6 grid, Zampieri made an easy start, recovering step-by-step. With a spectacular double move in a single corner, he swept another podium finish, while Liberati rounded out the day's top-10
