Malta Formula Racing had a positive start for their 2015 season. The team, led by Danilo Rossi and Marco Ubaldi who are partnered by Roberto Venieri and Target Racing for the technical aspects, lined-up three cars at Vallelunga in the opening round of the Italian F.4 Championship. The driver roster included Mexican Raoul Guzman Marchina, Colombian Kevin Kanayet and the newest addition, Russian Yan Shlom. The team was able to get to the points zone straight away despite dealing with the variables of a tough debut run.

Guzman Marchina had a tough start for his weekend with a difficult Race 1 experience. On lap 4, the Mexican rookie, who was starting from the 9th row, had to come back to the pits due to a throttle problem. After starting 24th in Race 2 (the field is set by the results of Race 1), he recovered up to the 15th place. In Race 3 he then took-off from the 17th place on the grid and provided an aggressive and overtake-filled performance en-route to the 8th place overall.

Kanayet, who is part of the Campos Academy, took-off from the 26th and last place in Race 1 due to a series of qualifying issues. He didn't back down though, putting together a sensational recovery all the way up to the 6th position. For the second race, Kanayet lined-up on the third row, capturing another 6th place by the end of the day. Last but not least, he delivered another stunner in Race 3, when he moved from the 19th place on the grid to the 7th position at the line.

Shlom was 13th on the grid for Race 1, but lost contact with the frontrunners of his class ending up in 12th. In Race 2 the Russian, born in 1999, put together a nice 12th place, while in Race 3 he improved to 13th from 14th on the grid. At the end of the week, Shlom showcased his skills and potential by staying close to the top-10.
