Target Racing to enter the McLaren Trophy Europ

Breaking news for Target Racing. The team, managed by Roberto Venieri, will participate in the McLaren Trophy Europe in the 2026 season. Target will field two cars from the British manufacturer in the five-round calendar, all of which coincide with the GT World Challenge. The first event is scheduled for Monza on the weekend of 31st May, followed by rounds in Spa (25-27 June), Misano (17-19 July), Montmeló (2-4 October), and Portimão (16-18 October).

The car featured  in the series are the Artura Evo, designed exclusively for the McLaren Trophy. With 585 hp and an improved aerodynamic package, it is extremely agile in both low- and high-speed corners, allowing it to lap within seconds of a GT3.  The Artura Trophy Evo is equipped with innovative "Push to Pass" technology, increasing power to 620 hp for 300 seconds per race, and providing drivers with even more adrenaline. The Artura Trophy Evo also features wider tires, new suspension uprights, and improved anti-roll bars to generate even greater traction and stability, instilling even more confidence in the driver.

The race weekend format includes two 60-minute free practice sessions on Friday, a third 15-minute free practice session on Saturday, followed by a 15-minute Qualifying 1 session and the first 50-minute race with pit stops. On Sunday, another 15-minute free practice session precedes a 15-minute Qualifying 2 session and the second 50-minute race with pit stops. All races have a rolling start.

There are two drivers per car, and each must compete in one of the two qualifying sessions. The driver categories are the usual Pro, Pro Am, Silver, Bronze, and Am. Points are awarded to the top eight in each race, with 12 points for the winner, 9 for second, 7 for third, 5 for fourth, and down to one point for eighth. The final championship standings will be calculated based on a driver's nine best scores, allowing the lowest score to be eliminated.

Roberto Venieri: "We are delighted to embark on this new adventure with McLaren. For Target, this marks the beginning of a new journey of challenges that will see us compete on Europe's most prestigious tracks alongside a brand that has made motorsport history."
