Target Racing takes double victory at the Nürburgring in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo

Target Racing dominated at the Nürburgring in the fourth round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season. The Lugo-based team kicked off the German weekend by winning Saturday's race with Guido Luchetti. Later, in Sunday's heat, the team led by Roberto Venieri secured a resounding one-two, making the most of a strategy that allowed Patrik Fraboni and Giacomo Pedrini to cross the finish line first, followed by the Luchetti.

Already a standout performer in free practice, Luchetti secured the Pro class pole in both qualifying sessions. Starting from second place in Saturday's race, the Target Racing driver took the lead thanks to an early pit stop, and then pulled away from his rivals to claim his first overall victory in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. Fraboni and Pedrini also performed well, finishing seventh after a solid race.

The Target Racing duo was the undisputed star of Sunday's race. Despite the rain that fell before the start, the team opted to field their two Lamborghini Hurácan Super Trofeo Evo2s on slick tires. After a cautious start, Fraboni put a spectacular comeback that took him from ninth to first place in eight laps. It was then up to Pedrini, who took over the wheel midway through the race, to complete the mission, crossing the finish line first.

Luchetti himself, having slipped to the middle of the pack due to cold tires at the start, mounted a strong recovery to finish just short of the podium before the mandatory pit stop. Target Racing's pit wall strategy then allowed the Pistoia native to gain positions during the pit stop. Luchetti rejoined the track behind his teammates, finishing the race in second place.

The positive weekend at the Nürburgring also allowed the Target Racing drivers to climb up in the overall Pro class standings. Luchetti now sits in second place, just fourteen points off the top spot. The Tuscan is followed, five points behind, by the Fraboni-Pedrini pair.

The penultimate round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe will take place at Montmel ó on the weekend of October 12th, before the final round in Misano early November.
