The second round of the McLaren Trophy Europe, held at the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, brought great satisfaction to Target Racing. The Lugo di Ravenna-based team took a splendid victory in race 2 with Largim Ali and Kristian Brookes, protagonists of an extraordinary comeback from the back of the grid, after a weekend marked by a pole position and strong finishes.

High temperatures made the weekend particularly challenging from free practice onwards, with drivers and technicians forced to work in extreme conditions to find the best setup for the McLaren Artura Trophy Evo.

Saturday started off in the best possible way with pole position for Ali and Brookes and third-place finishes for Patrick Schober and Alessandro Fabi. However, in the first heat, fate proved adverse for the Romagna-based team. Gregor Jeets and Riccardo Ianniello narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth, while Ali and Brookes slipped to seventh place due to a penalty. Schober and Fabi were less fortunate, forced to retire while battling for the top spots.

Sunday, however, rewarded the team's hard work. After some qualifying issues that relegated the No. 99 McLaren to the back of the grid, Ali and Brookes drove an extraordinary race, recovering to the lead and taking the win by just 94 thousandths of a second.

Behind them, Schober and Fabi finished tenth, while Jeets and Ianniello, after a strong early comeback, were slowed by a technical issue that forced them to make an extra pit stop, finishing twelfth.

With the victory at Spa and the performances displayed throughout the Belgian weekend, Target Racing has confirmed its competitiveness in the championship reserved to the British supercars. The next round of the McLaren Trophy Europe will be held in Misano from 17 to 19 July.
