Target Racing on the podium in the Montmeló round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo

Target Racing confirmed its position as a key player in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe at the Spanish circuit of Montmeló. In the penultimate round of the Sant'Agata Bolognese mono-brand series, the Ravenna-based team closed out the Catalan weekend with a podium finish courtesy of Patrik Fraboni and Giacomo Pedrini finishing second.

The young Target Racing pair thus redeemed itself after the incident that sidelined them in Saturday's heat. Fraboni, firmly in third place, was rammed by a rival and ended up in the gravel at the Banc Sabadell corner. Sunday's race saw Pedrini start from fifth and immediately establish himself among the top positions. It was then up to Fraboni to manage the second stint, bringing the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo2 to third place overall and second in the Pro class.

Fresh from his first win in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa, achieved at the Nürburgring, Guido Luchetti immediately stood out in qualifying at Montmeló, posting the third fastest time ahead of the second heat. Starting sixth in Saturday's race, the Pistoia native then slipped to the midfield, penalized by the various neutralizations that affected the race. The Target Racing driver didn't give up and, in the final stint, began a furious comeback that culminated in sixth place in his class.

Sunday's race proved more bitter. Luchetti, starting from third place, was hit by a rival at the first braking point. Ending up in the escape route, the Tuscan driver was forced to rebuild his race. Despite his visibly damaged Huracán, the Target driver managed to recover ground, stringing together a series of overtaking moves that vaulted him to ninth place in the Pro class.

Ahead of the final round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, taking place at Misano in less than a month, Target Racing is poised for a dominant finish. Luchetti sits fourth in the overall standings, just eighteen points off the top, trailed by the Fraboni-Pedrini duo, two points behind. The Lamborghini World Finals will also take place at the track named after Marco Simoncelli on the weekend of November 9th.
