Raton by Target take superb second in the AM Category at Monza Blancpain Endurance

Raton Racing by Target trio Stefano Costantini, Christoph Lenz and Toni Forné scored an impressive second place finish in the Am category, as the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup fired up into action last weekend in Monza. At the end of a rain-affected three-hour race, the Italian team celebrated on the podium its first European race of the season. After Costantini put the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo on pole in Sunday’s Qualifying 1, Forné had a severe crash 10 minutes before the end of the second session. As a result of that the team underwent a strong effort to repair the car, that let Costantini to start at the back of the pack. The Roman driver completed a strong recovery on wet track, taking the lead of the category before being replaced at the first pit-stop by his team-mate Forné. The Spaniard was slowed down by a couple of safety car periods and finished his stint on second. Lenz mantained the position to take a final second place finish, that is the best reward for the team’s effort.

The guys did a fantastic job. They had only a couple of hours to repair the car and they did it! First of all I want to thank the team for the massive effort. We started from P41 and last of the Am category. That didn’t deprive us to catch a sensational podium”, said team owner Roberto Tanca.
