The penultimate round of the Italian GT Championship took place on its home circuit: Imola. Target Racing, as usual, was a strong contender in its classes: the GT3 AM with a Ferrari 296 for Hullin Han and the GT Cup, where it fields a Lamborghini Huracan for Andrea Fontana and Alessandro Mainetti.
In the GT3 AM, Han finished third and fourth in his class in both qualifying rounds. In the first race, the Chinese driver finished third, but a 25-second penalty relegated him to fifth place. In the second race, Han repeated the result: fifth. With these points, Han will enter the final round in Monza in second place in the overall standings, with 71 points versus the 102 of the Cassarà-Clementi leading duo.
In the GT Cup category, Fontana excelled in the first qualifying session, finishing third out of 35 cars. In the second qualifying session, however, an accident occurred right at the start of the session, involving Mainetti. After the necessary medical checks, it was deemed appropriate not to allow him to contest the two races. Fontana thus raced alone, taking sixth place in race one, while in the second race, from last (35th), he made a remarkable recovery to finish sixth. A 10-second penalty then dropped him to tenth. Fontana leads the overall standings with 56 points, tied with D'Auria.
