International GT Open - Di Folco-Spinelli clinch a fantastic 4th position at Monza

Alberto Di Folco and debutant Loris Spinelli secured a fantastic fourth overall and PRO class position in the second race at Monza, as the International GT Open came to the sixth and penultimate round of the season in Italy. The Target Racing pair just missed out on a deserved outright podium, completing a sensational weekend after finishing seventh and eight in the two qualifying sessions in their OPPO-backed outfit Lamborghini Huracán GT3 car. On Sunday's race Di Folco made a great start, jumping from eight to fifth. The Rome-based driver pushed as hard as he could. After the pit-stops Spinelli gained another position to secure the best result of the season for the Roberto Venieri's team. An early contact unfortunately ruined the Saturday's first race, as the Spinelli's car lost some power, almost eight kilometers per hour slower in the main straights. Eventually Di Folco finished just out of the top-10. Elsewhere Stefano Costantini and newcomer Bernard Delhez, sharing another Target Racing-run Lamborghini, claimed a podium finish in the AM class. The duo took the third place in race two after the Italian driver set a surprise third overall time in Friday's free practices. It was the third podium of the year for Costantini, after the ones claimed last July in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and in the International GT Open Silverstone round held early this month. The attention is now on the upcomping and last event at Barcelona, over the weekend of 20/21 October.
