BVM Target was back at the top at Monza, in the third round of the F.3 Italia. The team stayed in up front all-weekend long, and managed to bring both drivers Facundo Crovo and Salvatore Cicatelli on the podium. The Italian ended up in third on Race 1, while the team's outstanding rookie completed the job by repeating on Race 2. The two also overcame a difficult qualifying session for the team owned by Riccardo Venieri, that kept both outside the top-5.
On Sunday's Race 1, the nature of Monza came out again, rewarding fans with a spectacular and grueling race. Cicatelli had a good start, and managed to stay close to the podium zone. On lap 4, he took third position with two passes on Nava and Verdonck, and stayed there until checkered. Crovo ended up his first F3 race in 5th place by moving on Dalle Stelle and Gatto.
On Race 2, Cicatelli and Crovo stayed on each other's slipstring in 4th and 5th position. Unfortunately, Salvatore made a mistake on lap 2 that forced him to re-pick from last place. Crovo kept pushing, and climbed back one more place thanks to the drive-through penalty assessed to Verdonck. The Argentinean then moved on more experienced Gatto, and started chasing Castellacci, who eventually made it to second place, while Cicatelli was able to recover back to 7th.
