1000 KM Paul Ricard - Tough weekend for Raton by Target despite strong pace

Raton Racing by Target ended on P35 over 49 cars the 1000 Km Paul Ricard, third of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance rounds, as a tecnhical problem slowed down at the beginning of the race Stefano Costantini, Antonio Forné and Christoph Lenz. Despite all, at the Le Castellet track the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo fielded by the Italian squad showed a strong pace, claiming the third place in the AM catergory in the qualifying sessions. Costantini drove carefully at the start and due to a perfect strategy of the team that decided to anticipate the first pit-stop, he moved up from 40th to P20. Eventually a technical issue forced the Raton Racing by Target car to a 40-minute long stop, that costed a 25-lap gap from the first placed.

We weren’t lucky indeed,” team owner Roberto Tanca commented “Anyhow we decided to finish the race. It is a shame, because our car was really competitive and Costantini set the fastest lap in the category”. The Italian driver handed over to Forné, who was subsequently replaced by Lenz. Same sequence was repeated after the first pit-stops. The next Raton Racing by Target commitment is scheduled this coming weekend (8/9 June), at Spa-Francorchamps, that hosts the third round of the International GT Open Championship. The same Belgian track will be the backdrop of the 24 Hours, next of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance rounds, that will be held late next July.
